Big Tech

there are lots of critisims of modern technology and big tech that are all very valid and I agree are not things that should be problems. However, psychologically what happens when a tool isnt up to quality standards or is too inconvienient to use is that people just do not use it. This phenomena apears with a lot of people who are critical of these big tech systems, and anyone coming from older technologies from before capitalism plagued the technology industry with the problems of endless scroll and privacy abused and software designed around extracting money out of people. For someone aware of all of these, they become friction points in modern software. If i open a website and im given multiple popups i decide its not worth wasting anymore time on that website. If i open instagram and I see nothing of substance on my home page I get bored because my mind has been trained to not be turned on by mind numbing dopamine 'slop'. so, this feels like a very good thing for this group of…
