my disappointment with 1password

Yesterday, while having my first coffee of the day and reading the news, another bad one hit me. The Omarchy project – a customized version of Arch Linux – wanted, developed and supported by the ‘famous’ David Heinemeier Hansson a developer who also made good things[*]. For what could be a whim, and having the technical and economic possibilities, a couple of years ago he decided to move away from macOS, or Windows, and embrace the GNU/Linux path. As many he did not like the main options on the market and, given his technical skill, he begun a journey to customize Arch Linux. Given his visibility, and owning one of the most technically talented companies in the USA, they grow this customization into a GNU/Linux distribution of its own.That said, yesterday they annouced with a web page a list of investors and 2 main companies as the first supporters of this project, gathering more than 12 million dollars.
