Keeping those things maintained over the longer term is harder work, and can seem boring and routine. It’s an act of resistance to keep caring for the thing you created, but the great thing is that it pays you back more and more the longer that you continue to do it. It’s also work that — in my opinion — you should do yourself, with your own hands and brain. Let me try to explain why.I posted at the start of last month about moving this site from Hugo to 11ty, and also moving hosts from Netlify to Bunny.net. You can read the details there if you want, but my point is that it was quite a lot of work. I had to learn how to build stuff with a new static site generator, adjust the previous set up so that it worked with the new system, figure out how to deploy the new pages, change the DNS host (I’m now using omg.lol’s own DNS Kitchen, which is exciting!), and so on.I did it the old-fashioned way by reading… No comments yet.
