I’ve always been a folder guy, not a tag guy. Tag-based organization has never stuck with me, not in Bear, Obsidian, or iA Writer. I understand the appeal, but I’ve never known what to do with them. I do remember Tana having an interesting idea called Supertags before pivoting to yet another AI-meeting note-taking app. So, with Daymark, I wanted to repurpose tags for my own tracking needs. I combined checkboxes and tags to keep track of anything I can count: push-ups, swims, pages read, etc. It’s interesting to see how these things stack up over time. I’m still testing it (I pushed out a performance update today) and getting into the groove of keeping daily notes, but here’s my tally for August: I’m still a folder guy. But I’ve finally found a use for tags.
