Ramsey is a semi-mysterious figure, having released a classic LP for Shelter Records in the early 1970s and having not released a note since. Would he stumble onstage and deliver a totally burned out and wasted performance? Well, as it turns out, no. Here’s a bit of what I wrote for Aquarium Drunkard’s recent Dog Days installment: “Throughout his two solo acoustic sets, Ramsey delivered a masterclass in southern-fried tunesmithery, his vocals whiskey-soaked, his guitar work intricate and soulful. Willis’ in-between song banter occasionally rambled, but he was lucid and clear- eyed overall.
