Not Surprised.

Google Maps has relabeled Lake Ontario based on the idiotic Executive Order belched out by Velveeta de Pampers last week. Normally I would show you a screenshot of the erroneous designation on Google Maps at this point of the blog entry, but I refuse to go to Google Maps because then they’ll know that I’ve been there and who knows what else they’ll report to the government. Actions such as renaming Lake Ontario to something else lends more credence to the conspiracy theory that Google would gladly drop any personal data they have on any given person to the government when asked. There’s no evidence of this conspiracy theory, and that’s why I’m referring to it as a conspiracy theory, but there’s something else to consider with all of this: Google has clearly indicated that like most folks in Washington, D.C. and across broad swaths of the tech industry, Google is an asshole.
