A FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN is being launched to raise the monies necessary to establish a Gee Vaucher Art Foundation tasked to “preserve, protect and promote the artistic legacy of Gee Vaucher.” The new Foundation that, will be guided by a “board of curators, designers and cultural producers”, will have three key aims: to ensure continuity of safeguarded access to Vaucher’s artistry; to establish a permanent London archive and gallery for Vaucher’s work; and to “continue the legacy of radical creativity” established at Dial House by eventually “taking ownership and stewardship” of the premises and “ensuring its future as a living centre for creativity, collaboration and social change.” While many people first encounter Vaucher through her iconic visual work with Crass, her significance extends far beyond that. The mission of the Gee Vaucher Foundation is to preserve, protect and promote the artistic legacy of Gee Vaucher, one of the most important British artists of the last fifty years.…
