Horns of Darkness, Vessels of Paranoia, and Clues of Carnage: Tim Curry Tribute Special!

In the midst of a desperately cruel August, we ended up losing Tim Curry. He had a ton of wonderful performances to his name, three of which really don’t cry out for further examination. Muppet Treasure Island is a delight that loses out to The Muppet Christmas Carol only because it doesn’t have a globally celebrated holiday associated with it to keep it peretually in the cultural zeitgeist; his take on Pennywise in It was easily the miniseries’ saving grace; his turn as Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (and the original stage show) is arguably a milestone of queer rights in and of itself, a cinematic moment which is destined to go on to be studied and re-examined no matter how dated the movie may get. For this salute, instead of reviewing any of those (er, beyond the capsule reviews I just offered) I’m going to cover a triptych of his lesser works.
