Big CircleWe checked out the latest from mssv a few weeks back, so why not check out another Mike Watt group? In the newly formed Big Circle, the bassist has teamed up with two Feelies — Glenn Mercer and Dave Weckerman — along with Dan Francia (who has worked with Feelies friends Speed the Plough in the past) for a short/very sweet EP of groovy instrumentals. And, no surprise, it’s a blast, with the Watt and Francia on dueling basses, Mercer on crunchy guitar and Weckerman holding down the beat. It’s low-key and low-stakes, but absolutely charming; hopefully there’s a lot more to come from this quartet.
