A grand day out… 0 ▲ James Hilton 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Yesterday was ‘business as usual’ weather wise, in North Wales. Welsh sunshine from wall to wall, Blaenau to Porthmadog…I enjoyed a trip on the Quarryman service that leaves Blaenau about 11:40am and returns arriving back about 16:40pm with a few hours lay over in Porthmadog. The rain put pay to plans of walking some of the coast path so instead a stroll with a brolly down to the Heritage railway and a pleasant hour with a short ride behind 590 and a chance to see Gelert and the Romanian built diesels. Back at Spooners, disappointed to have missed the best of the cakes we jumped on board and headed for home, marvelling at the number of trains and locomotives in steam. Lyd had returned with the Red Dragon stock after its summer at Dinas and Welsh Pony and Britomart were on a Woodland Wanderer. Wet rails were interesting, Linda coped admirably. All in all, a wonderful day out - and lovely to bump into Ribbons contributor and blog regular Matt at Port, hopefully we’ll have a chance to… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
