The Sunday Schnauzer – Holberg and San Josef Bay

After leaving Malcolm Island, we headed to Holberg to stay in the adventure huts at the Scarlet Ibis Pub. Like the umbrella says, The Scarlet Ibis is the Island’s most remote pub. A bumpy and very dusty ride on a logging road dodging logging trucks will get you there…maybe, LOL. The pub provides a nice break from the drive and a place to stay and/or refresh before heading onto the main attraction: Cape Scott Provincial Park and San Josef Bay. After arriving at the parking lot, it is an easy hike to the ocean and the beauty of San Josef Bay. For the best experience, plan to go at low tide so the sea stacks, caves, and tide pool denizens are all accessible. Sea stars and anemones. Bowser and Daddy checking out a sea stack.
