Appreciate Blogger While You Can

Finding authentic content on the internet is difficult. Everywhere you look, so much of it feels performative. It doesn’t matter if it’s YouTube, X, Bluesky, or Bear Blog, there is a lot of content created to show off, posture, or chase attention. The worst offender, at least for me, is Letterboxd. It has the potential to be something truly great, but instead it is hampered by a useless list function and countless one-line reviews trying far too hard to be clever, edgy, or funny. So, when I’m looking for an honest review of some obscure 80s slasher movie, I usually skip Letterboxd and search something like Sleepaway Camp 3 blogspot. That almost always leads me to some random review written by a passionate horror fan in 2008 who wasn’t worried about impressing anyone. They just wanted to talk about a movie.
