There are two wolves inside of you. One of them says: “Let’s post all our feelings and opinions on the internet in a desperate bid for human connection”. The other one knows that won’t work, and that the appropriate place for your personal feelings and opinions is a private diary that no one else can read. But the wolf that wants human connection is strong, so you go and share your thoughts and feelings and opinions. But the only people who ever respond to you say things like “you’re genuinely stupid” and “you’re a dangerous person”. All your opinions are wrong, and so they hate you. The outside observer says: “just change your opinions into correct ones that don’t make everyone hate you.” But what is a person if not a pile of opinions? Is “you with different, correct opinions” still “you”? The second wolf says: see, “if you listened to me, you wouldn’t have to think about this stuff.” But the need for connection is just so strong.
