A less pleasing attempt at photoing the lunar eclipse 0 ▲ Reupen’s blog 50 minutes ago · Life · hide · 0 comments I saw that there was going to be a partial lunar eclipse in the early morning on Friday, 28 August 2026. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d seen a lunar eclipse. Good ones don’t come particularly often, so I thought that I may as well try and photograph it. My first problem was that the moon was going to be low in the sky, so I needed somewhere with an unobstructed view. I walked around my local area trying to scout out a good spot. I thought a road facing south-west in a slightly hilly area might be a good option. Alas, that particular one wasn’t – there were still trees visible near the horizon (perhaps it was facing another hilly area). Ignoring the trees, I’d still have had to stand in the middle of the road and, even then, would only have a narrow view without obstructions from houses. It turned out, though, that I should’ve looked closer to home – there was a good view on my own road that I hadn’t appreciated just by looking at a map.
