Killing in the Name

As Immortal God-Emperor, President and Chief Operating Officer of Earth 2’s Ex University, I have a weighty responsibility to protect and defend the institution’s reputation. Often this involves difficult questions of judgement and balance. For example, the careers, future prospects and mental health of several hundred academic staff must be considered in the context that the right-wing press doesn’t think much of the humanities. The learning experience of our students has to be weighed against the opportunity to join the cutting edge of spending millions on GenAI. Upholding the proud traditions of critical thought and learning in higher education versus doing what our expensive consultants tell us. A university like ours needs to think carefully about how its standing might be affected by its associations.
