Will rushing make anyone happy?

It’s been two months since my wife and I adopted our dog. She has been settling in, and getting more comfortable with walking further and further from her new home. A few days ago, we took her to the biggest park she’s been to so far. She was delighted. It was the first time we’ve seen her prance. The morning after, I took her down the same path, intending to turn around before the park. When I tried leading her to turn back home, she refused. I had to decide: should we go or not? I figured it would take an extra 10 minutes if we moved quickly, so we walked to the park. Because she had so much fun, and I was enjoying seeing her so happy, we didn’t move fast; we slowed down. So we took more time than expected. I realized that a walk through the park would take at least half an hour in total. If I wasn’t prepared to make that time, then the best solution wasn’t to hurry, it was to go to a smaller park nearby. Rushing would just make everyone unhappy. That would free us up to take…
