No News Is Good 0 ▲ JASON JOURNALS 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments This summer, I pulled the plug from my tech and web news preoccupation, I quit following most podcasts, and I abandoned my feed reader. It's quite a change for the better, like quitting social media. Usually such changes are part of a digital detox that lasts only a few weeks, but this looks like my new norm from now on. As a tech geek, I tend to pursue industry news and podcasts regarding Big Tech hardware and software, especially Apple's. For example, I watched WWDC26 like usual earlier this summer. But after that, I cut off all related media.1 Next, I plan to avoid the upcoming annual iPhone event in early September. I did this once before in 2022. Apple’s job is to market its tech and make me want to buy it. And Apple is very good at its job. I don’t want to let myself fall prey to the new, shiny, and expensive (now more expensive than ever) gadgets and related news.
