My enthusiasm for gadgets has steadily declined over the past few years. At least aside of music-making, because let's be honest: you can never have too many music-making gadgets!There's one gadget I've been having an eye on for a long time: the Steam Deck. Basically, it's a small device where you can assign shortcuts. It looks nice, and each button is a small display. But it was always too expensive for me to just play around a bit. However, there are now some cheaper alternatives, and I received one as a gift a few weeks ago. It works similarly to the Steam Deck; the software is just okay—the Steam Deck is definitely better in that regard. But overall, it works and does what I want. I can create different scenes and switch between them. Each scene has individual button and dial assignments. The great thing is I can assign each scene to a specific app. If that app is active, the scene(s) are automatically applied. This allows me to create shortcuts for each app, which are then…
