A Life of Creation VS A Life of Consumption

A friend showed me his brand-new luxury performance car. I cannot say I am not jealous of his new toy. He works hard for his money. His lifestyle is all about consumption and showing his lifestyle. That's how he motivates himself and attracts talent to join his team. As I reflect through my thinking, maybe I too can afford what he has. However, it will take away time from the joy of creation. I enjoy working on my business is because I want to create a world class insurance consulting company. The success can buy me material comfort but more important I can support my family and helping those in need. Money should be used for buying better tools, experience and knowledge, so we can live a fuller life. Things are just things. Of course, I have not driven a luxury performance car, thus I should not say it is not worthwhile. It is just a phase of life that I am in, I am in the creation phase of my life.
