Walking Toward Times Square – New York, New York After photographing Radio City Music Hall, I continued west along 50th Street toward Times Square. I spotted the silhouettes of these two women ahead of me and immediately got excited about the photographic possibilities. I quickened my pace to get closer without making it too obvious that I was following them. I shot several frames as we continued down the street, each offering something different. In some, oncoming headlights cast distinct shadows that added more visual drama. However, the surrounding architecture was also busier, so I ultimately chose this frame with its simpler, almost minimalist urban background. This is one of those situations where a regular autofocus camera would have made things much easier. Instead, I was manually focusing while rushing down the street trying to nail the picture.
