I'm always amazed by the ways that developers take existing roguelike formulas and tweak them into something completely new. We have countless Mystery Dungeon-esque games, twin-stick shooters, pachinko/slot machines, deckbuilders, and many other zany, inventive styles that keep this genre so fresh and alive. With the massive success of Vampire Survivors, the autobattling “bullet heaven” roguelike style was born, and very quickly became one of the most addictive takes on a roguelike. Blood Dungeon takes what you thought you knew about the bullet heaven style and gives it a Cool-Ranch-Flavor-Blast-in-the-face into something wholly unique and so addictive. Let’s start with the first thing that you’ll see with this game, the visuals. Everything is so crudely hand-drawn, which plays so well into the stupid humor of this game.
