Snoopy can’t give blood — but you can! 0 ▲ The AAUGH Blog 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments In recent years, Snoopy has been very successful in getting blood donors, particularly first-time blood donors (and you never have ongoing blood donors unless you have that first one.) The American Red Cross has run multiple campaigns offering special Peanuts t-shirts to donors, and the response has been strong (and seems to have led to further such efforts; one member of my family has signed up for their first donation to get a Hello Kitty item that’s being offered.) But these recent events were not the first time Snoopy has been used to draw blood donors. Back in 1959, this image started showing up for blood drives: While the image is odd in some ways — to create focus, Snoopy appears to be taller than Charlie Brown — but it’s attractive and it has some nice touches. You just know that Schulz was happy trying to get the clamp that holds the pole right. I find example of this image being used into the 1970s, but overall not a lot of use.
