An innovative day

Today the Innovation Lab from Gloucestershire libraries visited Dursley to do a pop up lab session and share some of their activities. I had already briefed my Dursley Code Club members about the day, but was also hoping to attract some new ones who haven’t heard about us. Andy and Steve from the Lab ran the sessions. They had a number of activities available from robot programming, music making to graphics tablets and a cardboard shape cutter. Right from the off at 10am we had 4 children show up, so I knew we’d be in for a busy day. The session was very informal, just drop in and out whenever and take part in whatever you wish. Robot control activity By 11am we had a steady stream – at one point there were 9 around the tables. There were quite a few who were new to me, so it was a good opportunity to talk to parents about the after school code club I run, and get them on my mailing list.
