Allotment show 2026 0 ▲ Reclaiming Paradise 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Last weekend we had our annual allotment show. I always enter a few things. This year I had high hopes for my giant marrow and my lovely sweet peas. I’ve been watching and watering both for a few weeks. The sweet peas grow up some string beside the potato patch: the lovely raspberry rippled ‘ pandemonium’ and a plain but highly scented variety, tangled together: On Saturday I got down to the plot in good time to see what else I might enter. It takes a while to sort out all the veg, wash the mud off and see what might fit each of the categories. Here’s a pile that I harvested , including the single carrot that has survived the slimies, and a huge pile of potatoes and brambles The trouble with the potatoes was that they are all different varieties and sizes so it was hard to find 5 matching ones to enter. In the end I put in 5 white ones and 5 ‘salad blues’. I entered the marrow in the ‘any other vegetable’ category alongside some onions, brambles and a vase of the pandemonium sweet… No comments yet.
