Spoopy! Felt a bit weird reading a gothic horror ghost story in 37ºC summer heat but here we are. My first Henry James book! A novella really, read it in two short sittings. Surprisingly unsettling for a victorian-era book, v creepy. Enjoyed the unusually ambiguous ending. A young governess arrives at a stately home to govern two perfect children (OR ARE THEY) who are visited by apparitions of dead former staff (OR WERE THEY). Download free from standard ebooks
