I would expect that if you only vaguely know of Vancouver, your main impression would be that it rains a lot. When I was preparing to move here, that was all I heard. Everyone warned me about all the rain. "Prepare yourself, you're going to be sick of all that rain!" I really wasn't bothered. Rain was a novelty for me and I was excited to move to Vancouver. Having a few more opportunities to look out the window and listen to The National while drinking tea seemed completely fine to me. After living here for almost 6 years, I feel like it isn't as rainy as I expected. I mean, I started to form that opinion early on but I thought perhaps I just haven't lived here long enough to get sick of it. But now enough time has passed and I haven't changed my mind, so what gives? Where's all the rain? We're just finishing off a beautiful, if way too hot summer, that had almost no rain.
