Today it’s eight years since I started working as a house inspector. Best job I’ve ever had, and I have had quite a few different ones. If you only count unique visits, leaving all revisits out, today’s last job marked visit number 7,282. On top of that, at least twice as many people. That’s what I like the most about the job, the interaction with strangers. So many stories, such varied lives. You never know what kind of person will open the door. If I get a new job in the future, meeting new people will rank higher than the salary on my wishlist. That kind of experience is invaluable.
