I was listening to Lorde’s Melodrama, an album I haven’t listened to for some time. Her music continues to echo through my week. It is hard to believe that I got to see her perform live a few days ago; the electricity of the performance still sticks with me: the moments we all sung with all the passion we had.Do I listen to the same song over again because I want to feel it more? I thought about this while sitting on a bench looking out onto green bushes and idly watching as the world went by.My collective experiences of listening to music span all the moods of which I can think: joy, sadness, passion, confusion, blankness, affinity with the environment, and so much more. Sometimes I listen to music because I want to hear something; to feel something. Other times I listen to music to pass the time. Or to have something that might make me smile. Music can bring life to my day, or make the day easier; music can bring more energy than I can describe to a moment, like Lorde’s performance…
