The Quiet Part Sony Said Out Loud

I've gotten more cynical as I've gotten older, and this one is a pretty good test of that. Somewhere out there right now is a corner of the internet vowing to keep their PS5s dark indefinitely, GTA VI included, until Sony reverses course on killing physical discs. I admire it. I do. It's the correct instinct pointed at the correct target — I spent a whole post making the case that the disc cutoff is the last exit ramp off Sony's server closing. Somebody organizing around that instead of just grumbling in a comment section deserves credit. I just don't think it works, and I don't think it's close.
