Day 193: Drained Creek Five

2026-08-18Hello!This is the final photo from my drained creek photo series. I wanted to highlight the influence the creek had on this woods, my personal connection to it, and the physical mark it leaves behind when it's dry.I didn't realize how shallow the water was. When the creek had water flowing through, I can't recall ever seeing the bottom. But it looks like I could have walked across this with the water lapping at my knees. If I didn't get swept away by the fast current.Looking back at this month's photos thus far, it's clear I need to put more focus on the light. In the future, I'll look for shadows and rays of light, instead of the flat cloudy light filtered through tree leaves that give everything a warm green tint.Finally, typography. Designing a font or a typeface is more than the alphabet; it must also include symbols like the arrow. I've stayed away from the tempting field of digital graphic design, and I draw my fonts on paper thank you very much... but now I have ideas…
