I’m writing this in my favourite cafe, while enjoying a cup of really good cappuccino. The weather is great, the forecast is that it’s going to get worse in the coming days, preparing the country for autumn, I guess. I’m so happy to be here, to write in this calm space. I’ve suffered from a bad throat ache for the past couple days, my body signalling it’s fighting a virus, I’ve learned, so I slowed the hell down. I’m feeling good. Low energy as always, but being here doesn’t cost me energy. It just fills me with joy, being here, just me, my coffee, my screen and the murmur of voices around me. I wish now that I’d given myself small adventures like this when I was younger. Back then I would go out to visit cities whenever I could on my days off, exploring and visiting museums and shopping all day long. I would go on vacations where I never sat still, always eager, always ready for adventure. I didn’t realise what I know now: small adventures are just as good for the soul. Maybe even…
