How I organise my bookshelf

Eula wrote a response (“Collecting reference books for creativity”) to my post on inspiration from physical artefacts and organising them. Ironically, I didn’t appreciate the continuity between these posts until now. I digress. In her blog post, Eula wrote about how she organises her bookshelf, which made me think about how I organise mine, too.At the moment, I have one bookshelf which I am actively outgrowing. My bookshelf has three shelves, and I keep more books on the top. My books are organised (roughly) as follows:Top surface of the bookshelf: Textbooks, novels for school, and miscellaneous books. I am also experimenting with keeping my scrapbook here; I want to keep the paper things I have made in the same place I keep my books.Top shelf: Translated Japanese fiction (one of my favourite genres of books) and miscellaneous fiction.Middle shelf: Biography, poetry, and art and design.Bottom shelf: Reference books.
