Everyone is together, waiting for music — we all came here with a common purpose, a purpose that we can see, a purpose that we can feel. We came here because we are human. Many people are dressed up, in all colours — blues and pinks and browns and purples. Time feels amorphous — isn’t is always? — where minutes pass like seconds and seconds pass like minutes. We are all surrounded by conversation, in the tone only made possible with anticipation in the air.We stand near an airport and yet the centre of the stage is the line — we are in our own journey, one where the only distance we need to traverse is to the front of the queue. We are a rainbow among the hills; we are a bastion of colour on a grey day; we are the music. People wear red heart glasses and hold up phones to their foreheads to play the game where you have to guess what word has been assigned to you.
