Maestral’s sunsetting 0 ▲ Nicola Losito 1 hour ago · Tech · hide · 0 comments Maestral, “A light-weight and open-source Dropbox client for macOS and Linux.” has been put in Archive mode by its author at the end of July. I loved it since it was lightweighted, fast, reliable and allowed me to bypass the up-to-3-devices limitations of the official client. Rebooting the client has solved, for the moment, the issue depicted in the screenshot but it has come also as a true warning to me. Today Dropbox is marginal in my storage experience but still, having gathered circa 20GB of free space over the years, is used by some utilities saving my backups there and for sharing documents with some members of my family that are not included into my iCloud plan. At the moment the only way I see to solve the problem is to use Transmit by Panic, of which I have a licence, to mount when needed the Dropbox folder. But still, if you hear about another solution leave me a comment or let me know with an e-mail or via Mastodon. No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
