Coffee Valley, Ikebukuro

Coffee Valley is a small specialty coffee store only a short walk from Ikebukuro station. They serve a range of coffee drinks plus toasts and cakes. Since it opens as early as 8am, it would make a good breakfast spot if you happened to be staying in the area. It’s quite a small store, so tends to be pretty busy if you attempt to visit on a weekday afternoon. Possibly due to this, they also have a time limit of 1 hour, although not strictly enforced. If you don’t mind the time limit they are laptop-friendly and have WiFi (if you ask the staff) and power outlets. I got a bit overwhelmed by the bean choices, and since I had recently discovered the joys of cold brew I decided to go with that (780 yen) which uses a Colombia bean. It was alright, although I think I’m still trying to find my taste buds on what is considered a “good” cold brew so the jury’s still out. I might have to come back and try their pour-over.
