My last harvest of the 2026 season with Glorious Grasslands on a rescheduled day due to heavy rain forecast later this week. I returned to a wonderful site we did back in July to get some of the later seeding plants such as wild carrot. Just Jamie and I today with Tom’s harvester. This site is quite sparse on grass, so most runs did not pull off too much excess hay. We had an efficient system going and by mid morning we had processed a fair bit of seed that was drying nicely in the sun. Early morning haul After the break, Jamie took the wheel while Tom and I looked after the tarp. We were visited by Sophia, the land manager, and it was interesting to hear what further management she could do to make the field even more species rich next season. The beef cattle will be coming on in the autumn, so it will get a good graze. Just two bags by the end of the day, but it contained some quality stuff which could perhaps be mixed in with other batches during the allocation process. Last actual…
