‘Darth Vader’ comes out in favor of Flock cameras at San Diego city council meeting

There has been an increasing awareness across the United States regarding surveillance cameras, specifically the ones from Flock. These unimposing cameras are black, mounted on thin black poles, and are covered by a small black solar panel. They seemingly have popped up across the country with very little fanfare. Until people realize just what they are. Flock wants to make everyone believe these ALPRs (automated license plate readers) simply read and log a passing car and allow law enforcement to act on information needed in an investigation. The reality is anything but that. For starters, Flock allows local police departments to give access to their local databases to any other departments, creating a connected network of logged cars.
