runaway to the stars i was recommended this by a dear friend and while i pretty regularly find new webcomics hard to get into, this one was an absolute breeze and i was up to date in a couple of days. it's a sci-fi that does a great job of digging into a lot of questions about communication, culture and the essence of belonging. the setting is a world with multiple comingling alien races, which immediately brings in the interesting questions of differences in needs between food and housing, as well as the tensions that can arise between the cultures inherent to each race. our main character is extra interesting as she is a "centaur" living primarily with humans, and one who has never really interacted with people of her own species, leading to interesting musings on her place in the universe as someone who is biologically one species but culturally another. the series also digs into deafness and sign language, non binary identity in a future with human genetic modification, and…
