My current iPad's battery has been degraded already, dropping quite a lot after a single session, so I was interested in the upgrade, especially since the price was pretty cheap. My friend tested the iPad and confirmed the battery was good which was my main concern so I was good to go with the transaction. But there's things about buying a used iPad (and any iDevice I suppose) that I wish I had known about it ahead of time, hence this post. The trouble started after the meetup where I got the iPad. My friend said they had done a reset and it turned on so I took it home and started doing the set up. But during the set up process, I ran into the problem: the iPad had activation lock enabled and I needed to input an iCloud account and password. My friend's aunt helpfully provided her creds but apparently they were NOT the same as the account needed to unlock the iPad. We tried a few… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
