Listen to me: You do not need the new Harry Potter show. Or movie. Or tie-in game. Or collectible. This has nothing to do with casting choices. This has everything to do with Rowling’s anti-trans activism. (Yes, she has an executive producer credit.) You don’t have to let go of what you already have. This does not take away from what those characters meant and still mean to you. You don’t need to burn a book or remove a tattoo or throw away your collectibles. Because fixing the problem is so easy. Just stop buying it. Just don’t give her more money. Don’t watch the new things. Don’t rent them, don’t pay for them. Don’t buy more branded stuff. You’re a fan; you already have the movies and books. Re-read those. Make your own cosplay and props from scratch. This is about you not giving her more money to do evil with. This is about you showing your friends that you value them more than nostalgia. This is about you not making a choice to give money to someone who will use it to hurt…
