Now that I've been on Bear Blogs for a year, I thought I'd document how I'm using it right now and how I've been enjoying it. When I first started my Good Golly Zines project, I was just using Instagram to publicize new zines and events, and engage with readers. I created a Squarespace site when I started Mid City, my bimonthly city news zine series, because I had some funding and wanted to expand my digital presence. I enjoyed the look and feel, but Squarespace was too expensive. It wasn't sustainable for me over the long-term. Although I wasn't really a blogger and I'm it's something I'm still getting used to, I switched the Bear Blogs because it was cheaper and simpler. I liked that it was customizable and challenges me to learn more about website building and basic coding. I especially liked how people on Bear Blogs were embracing the "small internet" in fun, new ways. With Bear Blogs, I also moved my email newsletter to Email Octopus, which is a free service and seems to work…
