Lab-Wide Updates: State of the Stove August 2026

It’s been a remarkably productive month for the lab - mostly because I’ve been able to give it my essentially-undivided attention while I keep looking for new payroll work. A lot of that productivity has fallen into the writing department, but that doesn’t mean I’m not back to some of my old technical shenanigans now that I have the spare energy for it. The obvious highlight is putting out a Kickstarter for a new novella, but there’s plenty more under the cut. Revamp and Relaunch of zadammac.ca One of the big efforts of the month has been a ground-up redesign of zadammac.ca from being a plaintext index of its own subdomains into an actual, proper author’s website meant to be easily findable when searching for me and my pen name, as well as more narrowly focused onto the writing, which is a thing readers care about. In point of fact, I would now argue that the site design and rendering is more advanced than the same setup I’m using for Arcana Labs, both of which are Jekyll-rendered…
