No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. -- Eleanor Roosevelt A few people on Mastodon recently showed hostility towards me because of my use of X and coding LLMs. I briefly tried to engage, but it quickly became clear this was a futile thing to try and do – it was just digging the proverbial hole as people piled on. I should have known better, but we live and learn. I deleted the account, which was described as “a privileged white guy thing to do”. You got me. Ten people cancelled their Pagecord subscriptions over the weekend, but I received many kind and supportive emails which means a lot. Sad to see people go, but I’m glad it was easy to migrate to another platform – that’s one of the goals, after all. I refuse to make this storm in a teacup personal because I know sweet FA about these people, just as they know sweet FA about me. If they choose to post judgements about someone they’ve never met, that's their choice to make. And if other people choose to believe…
