I think about this all the time. I'm in my 50s, so Gen X. I grew up with great fucking music, y'all. And now all these Gen Z assholes get to discover all my favorite music, plus all the new shit coming out. God, imagine discovering Tool, Nine Inch Nails, and Metallica for the first time. Imagine discovering The Chronic for the first time and all the rest that followed. Snoop, Em, 2Pac, Biggie. Dead. I'm dying imagining that. 💀 Generations now have it better than my generation in that regard. I mean, there were some goodies, but I don't think as much of the music from previous generations hit as good for us, as our music hits for the kids today. Black Sabbath are the godfathers of my favorite genre of music, but the Eagles? Nothing wrong with the Eagles. "Hotel California" is a good song, but the Eagles are not Tool. Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are both foundational bands, but the music doesn't hold up for me the way bands from my era hold up for the current generation. That is, if…
