I found another one! I'd just exited Marble Arch station on Park Lane east side and as I crossed North Row I noticed that the man hole within the tarmac still retains some wood block paving within three of its segments.View looking back towards Marble ArchHeading eastwards, the first road to the right along North Row is Dunhaven St (previously Norfolk St) which, back in the days of horse-drawn carriages, would surely have been lined in stables that backed onto the expensive houses that faced Hyde Park. The wood blocks would have kept clippity-cloppity street noise to a minimum. Two minutes's walk away, there's an unusual example of wood blocks infill. There are many more in the A-Z list here – please let me know if you spot any others.
