Bilbao transport

Today's the photo-heavy day, also the most transport-focused, so if you're target audience can I encourage you to head over to Flickr and gorge on 48 photos of public transport in Bilbao. I was pleased to discover that Citymapper works in The Basque Country. It also offers some fairly unusual transport choices. Metro Bilbao Bilbao's Metro is the third busiest in Spain and was many decades in the making. Money and engineering eventually came together in the late 1980s with an existing railway line bolted onto a new underground section through the city centre. Line 1 opened in 1995, followed in 2002 by a bifurcation along the opposite bank of the estuary. Line 3 is much shorter and operated by a separate company, all three lines interchanging in the old town at Zazpikaleak/Casco Viejo.
