I mentioned Ballads of the Lilypond the other week. It’s a poetic tabletop role-playing game – think Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, but everyone’s a frog and it’s set on the riverbank. Well, I formatted the thing on some lunch breaks last week and finally published it over on itch.io. I’m really happy with how it’s come together. It’s a short, bright, punchy thing, and the illustrations have made it feel proper joyous. Next step is to get the link out a bit wider. I have a little hit list of places to share it with, and a vague sense that fresh is best; share it now before the page reads ‘published last month’. If you know people who might like it, share it! If you know places I should send it to, tell me! That said, self-promotion feels weird this week. Today especially. It’s likely, had River lived, they’d have joined us this week. Today was the second of the due dates we were given. It would also have been Ann’s Dad’s birthday. So, the energy is reflective here, to say the least.…
