Old World Grandeur, Grand Central Station – New York, New York Many people recognize the Main Concourse, the vast open hall of Grand Central Terminal. It’s iconic, and I love it too. However, some of the station’s other spaces are just as compelling. Here, one of the side concourses feels almost intimate by comparison, despite its impressive scale. The repeating chandeliers, strong leading lines, and massive stone walls naturally draw your eye through the scene, creating a wonderful sense of depth. I waited a few minutes for someone to walk through the passageway. When the couple entered the frame, I waited until they were directly beneath the arch. Their small figures provide both visual interest and a sense of the building’s immense scale. Blog readers, you’ll love my free monthly photography magazine.
