Dr. Rashid Sumaila is a University Killam Professor and Canada Research Chair in Interdisciplinary Ocean and Fisheries Economics at UBC. His research examines the economics of fisheries and the oceans, including overfishing, fisheries subsidies, marine conservation and how we might manage ocean resources more sustainably.
