2026 W34: Frighteningly frayed

§ Last Sunday I found myself at a baseball game for the second time in as many months. This time it was for an end of summer get together caroline’s school organized for all of the teachers. The game itself was ultimately canceled when a biblical rainstorm swept through the city but it was still nice to catch up with coworkers and introduce them to the baby. § The green bean plants have finally rebounded after our heat wave in late July. On Tuesday I harvested a big handful of beans to eat with dinner. I thought I had given up after a long string of unsuccessful attempts to grow groundcherries but this week I suddenly noticed a volunteer nightshade that has popped up among the green beans. Until its fruit ripens I won’t know for certain whether or not it is a groundcherry but it looks suspiciously like one. § I dug out my old iPod Classic and a frighteningly frayed 30-pin cord.
